Bela Lugosi's Dead

Undead, undead, undead...

Happy Halloween!!!

Go watch Jeepers Creepers. Ignore the stupid name because that s**t rules!

Also, I better get some Trick or Treaters tonight. Last year was a big fail.

Black Cat

A cat as black
As blackest coal
Is out upon
His midnight stroll,
His steps are soft,
His walk is slow,
His eyes are gold,
They flash and glow.
And so I run
And so I duck,
I do not need
His black-cat luck.

Happy Halloween!

Putting up a few creepy decorations. I love the randomness of the clown's head here.

Early Christmas Shopping

One-stop shopping at the L.A. County Coroner's office. Somebody there has a macabre sense of humor. I approve.

If you missed MARKED BY EVIL (which is the online prequel to THE DEVIL'S FOOTPRINTS), click for a cheap (free) thrill.

Rachel DeLaune can't shake the feeling that something terrible is going to happen. Sinister forces seem to be all around her, but is the real danger from outside—or within her own family?

Speaking of THE DEVIL'S FOOTPRINTS, the video promo has over 20,000 hits on YouTube. Not bad! Some of the comments are pretty lulzworthy.

"WHEN YOU HEAR THE BELLS, DEATH IS COMING... or the wind is blowing....."

"I'm pretty sure that when you here a bell ring, an angel gets its wings..."

"When the bells ring, you will shit bricks."

"And shit bricks I did."

"...he's either crippled or he has something up his ass." ): (wut)

Banned!

Got your Banned Book Bracelet yet?

Banned Book Week ends today, but if you're still interested in finding out the books that were challenged in your area during 2007-2009, here is a handy interactive map. I'm happy to note that, according to this map at least, there were no such challenges in Houston.

To find out more about banned books, check out the American Library Association: Celebrating the Freedom to Read.

Spoorloos

Just got the Dutch version of my Eden's Children trilogy. The handy-dandy Google translator tells me that spoorloos means traceless or without trace.

Not gonna lie, I'm digging how big my name is on the cover. I kinda love the Netherlands right now.

Deze ontwikkeling wekt me op!

Electric Literature

Is this the way of the future for authors? (I tend to be wordy so I may be screwed.)

For the bookworms and people who love to read prose, Electric Literature launches the first ever literary app for the iPhone. (MobileWhack)

People of our generation—with one foot in the past and one in the future—must make sure that the media gap is bridged in a way that preserves and honors literature. We don’t want to be sentimental old folks in a world where literary fiction is only read by an esoteric few. (editors@electricliterature.com)

Here are a couple of their single-sentence animations for promo:
