You Got Demons
MTV has the world premiere of the new The Lost Boys trailer up. The Lost Boys original is one of my favorite movies, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope for this straight-to-DVD offering. Remember how cool the vampires were in the first one? Remember how really, really cool Jason Patric was? Whatever happened to him? Have we seen him in anything since Speed 2?And speaking of vampire movies, I finally had the chance to see 30 Days of Night last week. OMG, that is one badass vampire flick. It was beautifully shot, the acting was great, and the story was extremely frightening. I highly recommend it.
And speaking of eighties horror movies, I also watched The Gate again last week. Still just as creepy and fun as I remembered it. My favorite part is all those nasty little demons running around. Awesome.

I certainly don't hold any hope of cool factor in a remake of The Lost Boys. The original is too super for words. Jason Patric was the perfect brooding teen to vamp and then there is always the 'Coreys'. No one can top them.
Just imdb'd Jason Patric and he has been out of the limelight for the most part. Done some things, but not much.
I really don't understand that. He may not be the greatest actor in the world, but he has terrific screen presence and that brooding quality you mentioned. I'd like to see him make a comeback.
As for the new Lost Boys...I'm not even sure I want to see it. I think I read something about surfers. Uh, no. Just no.
ummmmm....surfing vampires....nooooo....doesn't really do it for me.....Why won't they leave the classics alone?? Dagnabbit??
